...and the price of COE on Amazon just keeps dropping and dropping. Me thinks they might have stocked a bit high. Reviews are a bit harsh, I wonder why.

Plan of action again this evening is watching...no not Torchwood, but Life on Mars. Yes, this has been on the stack of dvds for quite a while and last night's episode was more entertaining than I expected.
I know one person boycotting BBC America is not much but if this is how the show is heading I guess I'd better start to wean myself off slowly, starting now.
I didn't see as much feedback on last night's episode as I expected. I guess many of us here in the US cheated and watched when originally broadcast in the UK. Well off to salad and tv.

Well, let's see it's the big day for COE here in the US. Whatever shall I watch...hmmm...I think anything but COE. I have some nice films from Netfix that are just dying for viewing and plus I've just upgraded my DSL service and can watch something over the net.
As you may guess I'm still a bit peeved that RTD's parting gift before leaving the UK was to break his Torchwood toys so no one else could play with them. I'm equally annoyed with the BBC for aiding and abetting him.
Yes, yes I get that working for Torchwood is tough, life expectancy is short. We lost Suzie, saw what happen to Alex's team, then Tosh and Owen. If I wanted to see that level of continued death I would read the damn newspaper, listen to the radio and watch the freaking news. We don't have to watch scifi to see this, we watch scifi to be "entertained".

Well, post COE I took a detour in reading Torchwood stories and decided to take a look at the official released novels. The first story called Another Life by Peter Anghelides, is very disjointed with plot lines going in every direction for about the first half of the book. The story deals with mysterious alien related death, missing nuclear fuel and extreme weather localized in Cardiff. Owen has a large part to play in this story and comes off as vane and clueless, how he could survive working at Torchwood as this author has written is beyond me. Although I guess I could say that most of his decisions were guided by another part of his body than his brain. Finally in the latter part of the book the author does manage to pull the different plot lines together and they do form a cohesive finish. The title, Another Life, then takes on multiple meanings. I'm assuming from the charater interaction this takes place between Everything Changes and Cyberwoman. In the end a good read, if not spectacular. I would say I have been spoiled in that area by the livejounal stories I have read. :)
My thought of the day...
If there is a Torchwood series 4 and we have Jack and Gwen who you think will survive...
If Martha is invited to join can we all yell "Run Away, run away"...

Still in the state of denial.
As I have been frantically searching for information that would show this was all a very cruel joke I noticed something on Wikipedia about the Torchwood books. We have 3 more coming out this month and 3 more expected in October. All have Ianto listed as a character, although they are to take place between Exit Wounds and Children of Earth.
Maybe it's just me, but I think it's a bit strange to release 6 books with Ianto and have his character already dead on the tv broadcast. Hmmm....

I know it's just a tv show, but couldn't we have just a little breather before RTD killed more of the characters. Well, at least I still have the fan fic to supply me. Actually, some of the fic was much better than the scripts for the show. I was partial to the last two audio plays. Serves me right for getting attached. I hadn't gotten attached to a program since Quantum Leap...see how old I am...I'm ancient. I had sworn off tv, they always canceled my favorite shows quickly.
I say tar and feathers for RTD. Who's with me?
